 | I recently decided to prune our unruly Eucalyptus tree. After some scary fun on a ladder with a saw and a bit of rope I was left with a small pile of logs, a large pile of leaves and a very much shorter Eucalyptus tree. Seems a shame to waste the wood so I thought I would try some green wood carving. The first thing I noticed was how wet green Eucalyptus is also, the sap has a strange, slightly purple, tint to it. Weird. Anyway, I persevered despite the damp wood, weird sap and very rapid shrinking and cracking to produce the GreenWood Man you see in this image. He has quite a few cracks and splits and he is a bit rough but Im quite pleased with him despite his imperfections.
